I Built The Groupset Shimano Refuses To Make
00:13:23

The reviewer tests the SENSAH Team Pro shifters to convert an 11-speed Shimano 105 rim brake groupset to 12-speed. They state the shifters are designed to work with the pull ratio of 11-speed Shimano rear derailleurs and a 12-speed cassette. They find the shifting performance to be excellent, with crisp, tactile, and perfectly indexed shifts. The shifters are lighter than Shimano 105, have a carbon blade, and feature premium, grippy hood rubbers comparable to Shimano. The braking feel is on par with Shimano. However, the reviewer criticizes the SRAM DoubleTap-style shifting mechanism, finding it less intuitive than Shimano's system and noting it can sometimes cause accidental brake actuation during shifts. They conclude the product is an excellent solution for building a budget 12-speed rim brake bike or upgrading older bikes, but see little point in upgrading from a fully functional 11-speed groupset just for 12-speed.

AI Summary

Pros

  • Shifting performance is super crisp, tactile, and bang-on indexed.
  • Does not miss a shift; no issues with gears clicking or jittering.
  • Lighter than Shimano 105 shifters (433.4g vs 486.5g).

+8 more

Cons

  • Uses SRAM DoubleTap-style shifting, which the reviewer finds less intuitive than Shimano's system.
  • The shifting mechanism can sometimes cause accidental slight brake actuation, especially when shifting the front derailleur.
  • The reviewer, being used to Shimano, still messes up shifts with this system during high-intensity efforts.

Pros

  • Costs just under $3,500 AUD (approx. under $3,000 USD, $3,000 SGD)
  • Local warranty and support in Australia
  • Frame is a genuine Rock Bros design, not an open mold

+17 more

Cons

  • Frame is described as 'fairly narrow' and built 'a little bit aero, but not super aero'
  • The graphics on the handlebars have a 'massive Rock Bros logo' which the reviewer is unsure about
  • The seat post clamp design uses a rubber sleeve; reviewer states 'I don't know if I like this design very much' and notes cheaper Chinese brands often use it

+4 more

Key Points

  • Model: ROCKBROS PGZ or Pegasus (reviewer uses both names)
  • Frame: Monocoque carbon mix modulus (likely T700/T800/T900), not high-modulus

00:08:02

The reviewer unboxes and reviews a set of carbon wheels purchased from CSC Wheels via AliExpress. They discuss the ordering process, delivery, first impressions, weight, and sound of the freehub. The reviewer chose a 50mm rim depth, 23mm internal width, and 30mm external width. They selected the 'Six Power' (likely a mispronunciation of 'Sapim' or a specific hub model) freehub body as the cheapest option. The wheels cost 360€, arrived undamaged in 6 days from a Polish seller, and weigh approximately 1590g (845g rear, 745g front). The reviewer is impressed with the build quality, subtle branding, and modern specs. They note a minor error where the Shimano freehub body was installed instead of the SRAM one they ordered, but state it's not a problem. A follow-up test ride video is promised.

AI Summary

Pros

  • Ordering process was easy and similar to Amazon
  • Delivery was fast (6 days) and uncomplicated from a European (Polish) seller, avoiding customs
  • The package arrived without damage

+9 more

Cons

  • The reviewer mentions a configuration error: the Shimano freehub body was installed, though they ordered one for SRAM (they note this is not a problem as they received the SRAM body separately)
  • The initial impression and unboxing do not say anything about long-term durability or real-world performance on the road

Key Points

  • Brand: CSC Wheels
  • Purchased from: AliExpress (from a Polish seller)
  • Rim Depth: 50mm

Mondince FM336

Mondince FM336

Frame
Mondice FM336

The FM336 Mondince is a carbon fiber gravel/all-road frameset with progressive geometry, praised for its custom paint options including new chameleon and metallic finishes, and competitive pricing around €635-670 shipped to Europe (frame, fork, seatpost, axles, headset, and bag). Users contact seller Jack via WhatsApp (details on Mondince website) for ordering, with options for integrated carbon handlebars/stem painted to match. Jack provides responsive customer service and fast production turnaround (2-3 weeks for some orders, with recent lead times around 12 days). The geometry is 99% similar to Orbea Terra H30 and nearly identical to Trek Checkpoint SLR, offering reduced toe overlap compared to some competitors due to a longer front center. However, the manufacturer now advises maximum 47mm tires for safe clearance (4mm per side with 50mm tires), contradicting earlier 50mm claims and causing some users to switch to other models like FM296 or FM316. Actual rear clearance is limited to ~47mm; 50mm tires (e.g., Thunder Burt 2.1) do not fit safely. Jack offered compensation (€100 refund or new frame discount) for the discrepancy. Build quality is generally good; frame storage features a Fidlock magnetic door. Ride feel is planted, solid, and comfortable. Payment via SEPA transfer is available to avoid fees. Shipping to Europe can be as fast as 3 days (e.g., Norway). Jack is also planning a future frame with 57mm tire clearance. Size recommendations: for 185cm with long legs, size L is recommended by Jack; size XL is closer to current bike geometry. A test with lower handlebars confirmed comfort, leading to size L choice. For 179cm/83cm inseam, size M with long stem works. The frame is also available from Light-Cycling at a lower price, but the site has errors and AI content, raising legitimacy questions. Some users reported difficulty threading the brake hose due to excess glue, which Mondince acknowledged and resolved by filing the obstruction. Additionally, a customer's photo was allegedly used without permission as a fake review, and Mondince published an AI-generated article with unrealistic images, damaging reputation. Some orders experienced delays due to painting the wrong frame size or forgotten components. Despite these issues, many users report satisfaction with the frame's performance and customization options.

AI Summary

Pros

  • Good progressive geometry with longer reach and lower BB for stable, aero positioning
  • Generous 50mm tire clearance allowing up to 2.1" tires
  • Custom paint options including pearl effects and transparent colors

+17 more

Cons

  • Limited real photos available initially, making color choices difficult
  • Some users find seat tube/seat post area aesthetically unappealing
  • Fork had crown sizing issue requiring substitution with FM316 fork

+12 more

Key Points

  • Carbon fiber construction
  • 50mm tire clearance (confirmed by seller, but actual rear max ~47mm)
  • Includes seatpost (0/15mm offset), headset, thru-axles

LTWOO V3 eRX eR9 2x12s / 2x11s Electronic Groupset, Road Electronic Groupset, Replaceable battery, APP programming

Groupset
LTWOO ER9 & ERX - Electronic groepsets

The LTWOO eRX/eR9 (V3) is a Chinese electronic road groupset known for its low price, typically $300-$500 USD on AliExpress with coupons. It features 11/12-speed compatibility, hydraulic disc brakes using mineral oil, and replaceable 14500 batteries. Key attributes include: price around $300-$500, weight varies by model (eR9 alloy, eRX carbon; eR7 is a mid-tier option), and it uses standard road standards with compatibility for various cassettes (up to 34T with modifications) and cranksets. The V3 version introduced USB-C charging on the front derailleur, improved shift buttons, and better water sealing, though reliability and warranty support remain common concerns. Recent reports highlight a recurring issue: the groupset can suddenly become unresponsive mid-ride, requiring a brief charger connection to 'wake up' the system. This is often caused by the battery holder slipping inside the seatpost, triggering BMS protection. Users recommend securing the battery holder with rubber mounts or bubble wrap. Additionally, the groupset does not support USB-C to USB-C (PD) charging; only USB-A to USB-C cables or OTG adapters work. Shifting performance is significantly improved with Shimano cassettes and chains, while aftermarket Chinese cassettes may cause hesitation. The groupset continues to mature, with newer versions featuring lighter brake calipers (about 70g lighter per caliper) and improved compatibility. However, users report ongoing challenges with firmware updates potentially bricking components, inconsistent firmware versions affecting compatibility, and difficult brake bleeding procedures. Despite these issues, the groupset offers excellent value for DIY enthusiasts willing to troubleshoot.

AI Summary

Pros

  • Excellent value for money, offering electronic shifting at a fraction of Shimano/SRAM prices.
  • Good shifting performance and speed when properly tuned, with crisp and fast shifts.
  • Flexible compatibility: works with various cassettes (beyond 32T with mods), cranksets, and mineral oil brake calipers from other brands.

+6 more

Cons

  • Poor reliability and high failure rates, especially for early versions (V1/V2), with rear derailleurs dying from water ingress or other issues.
  • Very poor customer support and warranty service from LTWOO, with sellers often unhelpful or ghosting customers.
  • Water sealing issues, particularly in V1/V2 where charging ports allow water ingress, leading to failures.

+11 more

Key Points

  • V3 version features USB-C charging on FD (no RD port), improved buttons, and better sealing.
  • Compatible with cassettes beyond 32T (e.g., 34T, 36T) with pulley wheel swaps or OSPW cage.
  • Uses standard 14500 800mAh 3.7V batteries.

QUICK PRO ER:ONE AERO Road Bike FRAMESET

QUICK PRO ER:ONE AERO Road Bike FRAMESET

Frame
Quick Pro ER:One

The Quick Pro ER:ONE is an aerodynamic road bike frameset praised for its competitive pricing compared to Western brands, with complete bikes starting around $5,700 USD for Dura-Ace builds and framesets costing approximately $2,400 USD (with occasional 10% discounts). It features a carbon frame with CFD optimization, T47 bottom bracket, UDH (Universal Derailleur Hanger), and tire clearance up to 700x30mm. The frame weight is around 1,000g for size M, with the fork weighing about 480g. Users highlight its stable handling, smooth ride quality, and aggressive styling similar to the Scott Foil, with recent reports confirming excellent performance in windy conditions using deep-section wheelsets. Custom paint options are available for an additional fee, offering personalized aesthetics with finishes like cracked ice effects, and the brand sponsors professional cycling teams, adding credibility. However, concerns include limited resale value, potential bottle cage compatibility issues with larger bottles rubbing the downtube, and some minor build challenges like rear derailleur clearance on the smallest cog. The stock integrated handlebar has a low stack height, which some users find too aggressive, leading to recommendations for aftermarket riser bars. Aftermarket parts like Bikone or Novaride bottom brackets are suggested for the T47 interface, and dealers in Europe (e.g., Ruben Bike in Portugal) provide tax-free shipping and support. Cable routing is generally reported as easy, though aftermarket cockpits with wider channels are available if needed.

AI Summary

Pros

  • Competitive pricing compared to Western brands, with complete bikes starting around $5,700 USD for Dura-Ace and framesets at ~$2,400 USD
  • Excellent handling and ride quality: stable in crosswinds, smooth on rough roads, and responsive in climbs and descents
  • Modern features include UDH, T47 bottom bracket, tire clearance up to 700x30mm, and aerodynamic design with CFD optimization

+4 more

Cons

  • Low resale value compared to established Western brands, making it a poor investment for resale
  • Bottle cage compatibility issues: larger bottles may rub against the downtube, requiring smaller 'pro' size bottles or protective tape
  • Minor build challenges: rear derailleur may sit very close to the chainstay on the smallest cog (e.g., 10t), requiring adjustment

+3 more

Key Points

  • Frame weight: ~1,000g for size M, fork: ~480g
  • T47 bottom bracket
  • UDH (Universal Derailleur Hanger)

If you want a more traditional Elite Chrono style TT bottle, I've got an original Elite, and an AliEx clone that works using magnets, and I prefer the AliEx version. The cage on the Elite never worked that well - the magnet is a bit bulkier on the AliEx bottle but an easier process to slot back in the cage. They don't hold very much, and really only integrate well with the down tube meaning they look a bit off when using two, so I think they are more suitable for TTs where you are more interested in using the bottle as a fairing rather than drinking very much out of it.

The reviewer provides a detailed review of the Lightcarbon LCR018-D frame set, which they describe as an 'aero endurance' or 'Aero All Road' frame. They praise its external finish, build quality, and included components for the price. They note a minor internal manufacturing imperfection (loose fibers in the seat tube) which the manufacturer addressed by improving quality control. The reviewer is building it up and believes it will be a comfortable ride.

AI Summary

Pros

  • High quality and flawless external finish/paint
  • Good value for money at approximately $950 (frame set) / $1100 with shipping
  • Includes many components: frame, fork, seat post, seat clamp, Di2 battery holder, integrated carbon handlebar, computer mount, headset kit, through axles, T47 bottom bracket, in-frame storage bag

+10 more

Cons

  • Frame weight (1,236g for size 58) is 'not the lightest'
  • Found a small internal imperfection: loose carbon fibers in the seat tube area (less than 2cm square), attributed to a sticky latex mandrel during production

Key Points

The reviewer does not mention the specific product 'DH Full Suspension Frame Aluminum Soft Tail 27.5 er Rear Travel 200mm Boost 12X148mm 4 Links MTB Rear Shock Downhill Frameset' by its full technical name. The video focuses on a complete bike called the 'Fastworks Downhill F200' or 'AliExpress bike', which presumably includes a frame with similar specifications. The reviewer discusses the frame's performance and characteristics as part of the overall bike. They note the bike has a mullet setup and modern upside-down suspension.
