The SPCycle G028 is a new carbon gravel frameset offering massive tire clearance up to 700x57C or 29x2.25 inches, making it suitable for monster-cross or drop-bar MTB builds. It features Toray T1000/T1100 carbon, T47 threaded bottom bracket, UDH hanger, full internal routing, and flat mount disc brakes. Frame weight is around 1000-1050g (size M unpainted) and fork ~450g, though actual weights can be higher (e.g., 1200g frame, 460g fork for raw carbon with clear coat). It has passed ISO 4210 testing. Sizes M and L are available now; S and XL expected mid-May 2026. The frame can be ordered without rivets on fork/seatstays or with custom paint upon request. Multiple metallic colors are offered. However, significant quality concerns have been reported: many forks exhibit rough machining, voids, and exposed carbon fibers around the brake hose port, with some users deeming them unsafe. Seller has agreed to replace some defective forks. Other issues include paint overspray, headset preload problems requiring shims, a poorly sealing plastic storage door, mismatched thru axles, and absence of build instructions.
