Description

Watch my review of the Elitewheels Edge 50mm budget carbon wheels to determine whether these Aliexpress wheels are worth it. I have thoroughly tested them both indoors and outdoors to assess their pros and cons.

I examined their lateral and radial trueness, checked spoke tension and inside of the rim, and put them to the test on different terrains.

Additionally, I compared them to other Chinese carbon wheels, such as YOELEO SAT PRO 2022, Trifox WT11, Farsports Ventoux S, Elitewheels DRIVE, Superteam All-Carbon Ultra 2023, and more.

2 other reviews for this part

The reviewer provides a detailed review of the Elite Wheels Edge carbon wheelset, which they purchased for $625 including all fees after a customs charge. They rode the wheels for over 1,000 km. The reviewer describes them as one of the most popular and affordable carbon wheels from AliExpress. They detail the specifications, quality control tests, and riding experience. The wheels are noted for being lightweight, comfortable, and having good crosswind stability, but are criticized for lack of responsiveness, poor momentum on flats, and mediocre trueness out of the box. The reviewer concludes they are good value for money for beginners or for comfortable training, but not high-performance.

AI-Summary

Pros

Affordable/good price
Lightweight (1353g total, lighter than some competitors)
Comfortable ride, better at absorbing vibration than very stiff wheels

Cons

Not very well trued out of the box with clear deviation
Front wheel had worse spoke tension consistency than rear
Rims may not be made to high tolerances
