DRIVE wheels are my favorite climbing wheels 🏔, mainly because they are super responsive, which comes from their centered weight distribution and stiffness. They are also stable in crosswinds. Their riding comfort is comparable to that of other carbon-spoked wheels. On the other hand, they can’t keep their momentum on flats as well as heavier wheels.
My in-house testing showed a consistent spoke tension and perfect hub centering but imperfect lateral trueness. Mounting a tire could also be easier.
I recommend them for climbers or those who want agile wheels suitable for technical criteriums. But you should probably avoid them if you are looking for fast wheels ideal for flats and steady efforts.
