Pedaler
April 07, 2026
Hey Pedalers! So I've been running the Wheeltop EDS GEX Chinese wireless gravel groupset for a few weeks now and wanted to share some real first impressions with you guys. I've been testing it both on proper gravel and in road mode on the same bike, tarmac climbs, gravel descents, mixed terrain, all of it. Honestly... it's been surprising me. This isn't the FULL long term review yet, that's coming soon to the channel. Just wanted to give you my honest take so far on shifting, braking, and how it handles across both setups. Hope you guys enjoy. Full details below 👇

WHEELTOP EDS GeX Gravel Wireless Groupset, hydraulic disc brake, 3-14s
Created: July 04, 2025The reviewer provides an initial ride review of the Wheel Top GEX gravel groupset, which they have been using for some time. They are using the long cage 1x electronic wireless version. They praise its customizability, shifting performance, and especially its hydraulic disc brakes. The reviewer highlights the ease of installation due to its wireless nature, its affordability, and the serviceability of the brakes. They note the ergonomic shifters and the ability to configure shifting like SRAM. The main criticism is directed at the companion app, which they describe as unintuitive with a terrible UI. They compare it favorably to SRAM 1x and rate it higher than Wheel Top's road disc groupset due to the lack of a front derailleur.
