Four (More) Cycling Radars Tested // Which Ones Are Dangerous?
Shane Miller - GPLama
February 24, 2026
In this video I put four cycling radars through real-world road testing to see if they can reliably detect approaching vehicles and provide the safety awareness riders depend on. Three of these units showed behaviour that I consider unsafe, with false negatives, early clearance warnings, and sensor dropouts that simply shouldn’t happen in a device marketed for rider safety. Only one performed well enough to inspire confidence, and that raises bigger questions about what’s being released to market.
Reviewed in this video are the Ravemen NT201, Coospo TR70, RideNow RT01, and Enfitnix RR01 cycling radars.

AI-Summary
Pros
- No false positives recorded during testing
- Radar functionality works well in perfect conditions
- Approaching speed is reported accurately
- Multiple vehicles are detected well
- Some detections at or just beyond 140m range
- Didn't scare the reviewer when riding compared to other units
- Company improved the product based on feedback
Cons
- Unit is 'chirpy' with two beeps for single detections (orange then red alerts)
- Orange-to-red alert transition isn't configurable on the unit
- Continual beeps became annoying and caused the reviewer to start ignoring them
- Consumer confusion between old and new TR70 versions
- Requires new hardware for updates (not just firmware)
