CYBREI have finally released their 24mm spindle version of the hugely popular carbon cranksets. These cranks come out of the same molds as the ones on Tadej Pogacar's TT bike as ridden at last year's Tour de France.

The 24mm version features a titanium axle for added stiffness. It offers a more convenient direct swap-out-swap-in upgrade for people running Shimano cranksets or just for people who like the bigger bearings you can run with thinner crank spindles.

Full disclosure: I sell these cranks over on panda podium and Cybrei provided these cranks for free in order to make this video. I have a financial motivation for you to buy these cranks. However, Pogacar could choose any cranks in the world and he's running these on his TT bike when it really matters... so...they're probably not bad. ;)

The reviewer discusses the CYBREI Carbon Crankset, comparing the original DUB version with the new 24mm spindle version. He highlights the crankset's popularity, stiffness, lightness, and reliability, noting its adoption by SRM and use in the World Tour. The 24mm version offers compatibility with Shimano setups and larger bearings but is heavier and more expensive due to its titanium spindle.

AI-Summary

Pros

  • Super stiff carbon crank arms
  • Lightweight (150g lighter than Shimano Dura-Ace R9200P setup)
  • Popular and reliable with few reported failures
  • Used by SRM and in the World Tour (e.g., Tadej Pogačar)
  • Open Eastern Cinch standard allows for various spiders and power meters
  • 24mm version offers straight swap for Shimano setups and larger bearings
  • DUB version is lighter and cheaper

Cons

  • 24mm spindle version is $70 more expensive than DUB version
  • 24mm spindle version is 15g heavier due to titanium construction
  • Some concerns about DUB bearings being too small for certain bottom bracket standards (noted by Hambini)
  • XKD power meter may underread or overread by 3-5% (though consistent)
  • Not the cheapest option available
