December 05, 2025
There are clear advantages to running an integrated bar & stem. This includes aerodynamics, clean aesthetics & increased stiffness. However, this modern solution also comes with new issues. The main two being the ability to pack the bike down for shipping, and the increased time and labour involved in servicing the headset.
In this video, I take a look at the all new Zeno Q-Connector V2 Quick Coupling System, to see if it can help in solving the problem caused by the integrated bar and stem.

Created: February 16, 2026The reviewer tests the Zeno Q-Connector V2 Pin Side Pre-pressed with hose, a hydraulic coupler system that allows breaking and rejoining brake hoses without fluid loss or bleeding. He installs it in an integrated cockpit bike and finds it enables quick handlebar removal (about 5 minutes) and easy access for headset maintenance. The system is compact (6.5mm wide, ~5cm long) and fits inside headsets. He notes the connectors have small sharp edges, requiring caution, and suggests a tool to push the connector onto the hose would be helpful. He recommends it for travelers but notes that for occasional maintenance, the installation cost may outweigh benefits.
AI-Summary

- Compact size (6.5mm wide, ~5cm long) fits through frame ports and inside integrated headsets
- Brakes remain functional after multiple connect/disconnect cycles (tested 5 times)
- Allows easy headset bearing replacement without complex cable routing
Cons
- Connectors have small sharp edges that may cause rubbing; reviewer used protective tubing
- Manual installation on short hoses in tight areas is difficult; requires pliers and caution
- No included tool to push connector onto hose; reviewer recommends a barb-pushing tool
- May not fit in headsets with very low stack height or on small frames
- Installation cost is high: £55 for connectors plus labor (~£90 for 2 hours) or £100 for pre-terminated hoses
- Longevity of seal after many connect/disconnect cycles is uncertain; air ingress possible over time
