I Built the Ultimate Chinese All-Road Bike

When I first showed a Chinese carbon all-road frameset a few weeks ago, a LOT of people were interested. So today, it’s finally time to build it up.

This bike is basically a full Chinese / AliExpress dream build. We’ve got a carbon all-road frameset from a Chinese direct to consumer brand called LightCarbon, deep section carbon wheels, integrated carbon cockpit, a budget power meter crankset, and the cheapest electronic groupset currently on the market, the L-TWOO ER7.

Honestly… I wasn’t expecting to like this bike as much as I do.

I had assumed the bike would be quite racey, stiff, and unforgiving, but despite the aero styling, it’s surprisingly comfortable, incredibly smooth on rough roads, and genuinely feels like a really well thought-out all-road bike. Plus at just 8.26kg with pedals, cages, computer mount and chunky 38c tyres, the final weight ended up being VERY impressive.
