Reviews & Ratings

The reviewer purchased an oversized pulley wheel system for approximately $60, which is a copy of the latest Ceramic Speed design. They note the packaging is nice, and they chose the closed jockey wheel version for aesthetics, better mud clearance, and reduced mud collection. The part is claimed to be 'handbuilt in Denmark,' which the reviewer doubts. The build quality feels surprisingly nice and solid, though the material feels like hardened plastic rather than real carbon fiber. It spins quicker than some original Shimano pulley wheels. The reviewer plans to mount it on a Dura-Ace 12-speed derailleur to test long-term shifting quality and performance, despite compatibility claims that conflict with Shimano's specifications. They also show the pulley wheels have dust covers and bearings that could be replaced with ceramic ones.
AI Summary
Pros
- Nice packaging for the price
- Closed jockey wheels give a nice look and are less prone to collect mud
- Better mud clearance due to built-in shapes that carry mud away
- Spins quicker than some original Shimano pulley wheels
- Bigger pulley wheels reduce chain friction
- Build quality feels surprisingly nice and solid
- Simple construction with dust covers on bearings
- Bearings could be replaced with ceramic ones for an upgrade
Cons
- Material feels like hardened plastic, not real carbon fiber
- Claim of being 'handbuilt in Denmark' is probably not true
- Feels heavy, heavier than a Dura-Ace 12-speed cage
- Compatibility claims (for R7000 to 12-speed Dura-Ace) conflict with Shimano's statement about non-interchangeable derailleur cages
Key Points
- Cost approximately $60
- Copy of the latest Ceramic Speed oversized pulley wheel system design
- Closed jockey wheel version chosen
- Reduces chain friction due to larger size
- Uses 2.5mm hex key for all screws
- Bearings have dust covers and appear to be steel
- Compatibility claimed for Shimano R7000, R8000, R8100, R8150, R9100, R9250 derailleurs
- Planned for testing on a Dura-Ace 12-speed derailleur

The reviewer discusses an AliExpress OSPW (Oversized Pulley Wheel) system, which is a generic or unbranded alternative to the Ceramic Speed OSPW. They installed it on a Shimano Dura-Ace 12-speed rear derailleur with an 11-speed chainring. They state the shifting is smooth, the transmission works smoothly and freely, and the part feels high quality and spins nicely. Installation was easy by following the original Ceramic Speed tutorial. The only issue was a small gap causing chain rub in extreme cross-chaining (big-big gear). They note it is a stylish, closed jockey wheel design that actively removes debris.
AI Summary
Pros
- Shifting is really smooth
- The whole transmission works smoothly and freely
- Feels really nice and high quality in the hand

- Installation is really easy (especially on Shimano)
- Works pretty flawlessly aside from one specific issue
- Stylish with a closed jockey wheel design
- Has an active debris remover, so not a lot of dirt gets stuck
- Costs a whole lot less than the original
Cons
- Had a small gap between the chain and inner plate causing rubbing in extreme cross-chaining (big chainring and big rear cog)
- Lacks the quality control, warranty, and support of a brand like Ceramic Speed
- Uncertain what quality the ceramic bearings are or how long they will last
- Unclear what AliExpress support provides if there is an issue (might just refund)
Key Points
- Installed on a Shimano Dura-Ace 12-speed transmission
- Used with an 11-speed chainring without issue
- Closed jockey wheel design
- Active debris remover feature
- Installation follows the Ceramic Speed tutorial
- Easy to install on Shimano derailleurs
- The only mechanical issue was chain rub in extreme cross-chaining due to a small initial gap
I just bought and installed a Ryet OSPW. The quality Looks good but I experiance chainrub when I am in the gear 53/30 or 36/30 (with 11-30 cassette). as soon as I get one cog lower the rubbing gets less and disappears when I am on the 3rd/4th cog (from the top).
This Ryet RS OSPW is actually really good because it has properly sealed bearings. I've done about 1000km often on wet and dirty roads with it now and it spins like new without any need for oiling and stuff. I didn't open or measure the bearings but they looked like some standard sealed bearings from the outside.
I am running a Ryet OSPW, it's a CeramicSpeed Alpha knock-off, but is working great so far: https://a.aliexpress.com/_Eva4gEg
