L-TWOO is a budget oriented Chinese groupset manufacturer, and recently released an electronic 12 speed road bike groupset, the eRX. It was VERY competitively priced, and I've used it extensively on my carbon road bike. However I faced a pretty major problem, namely that the front derailleur stopped working after a few weeks of use.
I believe they are working to fix this problem, so when L-TWOO contacted me to test their new electronic gravel groupset, the eGR, I was hopeful it would work perfectly. Unfortunately this was not the case.
The rear derailleur doesn't seem to be very waterproof, and after cleaning my gravel bike down after a muddy ride, it stopped working. Once it had dried out completely, it did come back to life, but the water resistance clearly needs some improvement.
However when it is working, it’s absolutely fantastic! The brakes are phenomenal, the shifters are very comfortable and easy to use, and the shifting performance is basically flawless. So while it has some problems, it’s worth remembering this is a prototype groupset, so hopefully they can get the issues ironed out for the retail version.
