Save 400g for $60: RideNow Ultralight TPU Innertubes. Are they any good?
China Cycling
11 luglio 2022
A few years ago Tubilito added new life to the innertube when it launched it's iconic orange TPU tube. Since then many have followed suit including Schwalbe with the Aerothan and Pirelli with the Race Zero SmartTube. While these tubes all have a few advantages over traditional Butyl tubes the price has always been an obstacle.... until now.
Meet the RideNow Ultralight innertubes. Available in multiple sizes, widths and valve lengths they're a TPU innertube from China that won't break the bank. They're bright pink...which is obviously the greatest colour, but they're also light, fast and recyclable.
At 36g for the 700C Road bike varient (with a 65mm valve length) they're light, but most surprising is perhaps their compact size. They fit into the smallest of saddle bags or jersey pockets.
Being around 100g lighter than a traditional tube, they're an easy way to shave weight off your bike. If you have a traditional Butyl tube in each tire, and 2 spares in your saddle bag then spending $60 on 4x RideNow tubes will save you 400g - That's the weight difference between Ultegra and Dura-Ace.
Even if you're running tubeless; they're a great option to get home in an emergency if you have a tubeless failure out on the road.
They're available to buy from anywhere you'd usually buy your Chinese bike gear, or also on the Winspace website.
