THREE Cycling Radars That Should Be Avoided (for now)

This video is the result of many weeks of in-depth testing of three cycling rear radars - The Magicshine Seeme R300, Giant Recon Plus TL300R, and iGPSport SR30. All have been tested individually and head-to-head against the trusted Garmin Varia RTL515. Despite being marketed as safety devices, these radars frequently produced false positives or failed to detect vehicles, undermining their core function. My position at this point in time is for a product recall on all of these devices until the companies can reduce (or ideally RESOLVE) all the false positives (and the two false negatives) encountered. While the RTL515 isn't perfect, the three radars in focus here are well below acceptable in their operation.

Créé le : 18 juin 2025Le critique a testé de manière approfondie le dispositif combiné radar/feu arrière Magicshine CME r300 et a constaté qu'il fonctionnait mal. La fonctionnalité radar présentait de nombreux faux positifs (alerte en l'absence de véhicules) et faux négatifs (échec d'alerte en présence de véhicules), ce qui a conduit le critique à conclure que le produit ne fonctionne pas comme il le devrait et ne devrait pas être en vente dans son état actuel.

- Mode de conscience de groupe qui réduit la luminosité lorsque d'autres appareils sont à proximité
- L'autonomie de la batterie lors du test de banc était proche des spécifications annoncées (13 heures 14 minutes contre 14,5 heures annoncées)
Cons
- La fonctionnalité radar n'est pas fiable avec de nombreux faux positifs et faux négatifs
- Le montage à l'arrière n'est pas très durable (celui du critique s'est cassé)
- L'application compagnon ne fonctionne pas en arrière-plan, ce qui la rend 'plutôt inutile'
- La persistance des alertes est inférieure à la référence Garmin (les véhicules disparaissent des alertes plus tôt)
- Le temps de détection est plus lent que la référence Garmin d'environ 1 à 1,5 secondes
- La mise à jour du micrologiciel fournie par le fabricant n'a montré aucun changement de fonctionnalité
- Non compatible avec le support Garmin
