What can a cheap Chinese brand do with a bigger budget? - Loong carbon frame

OG-EKIN makes some great value carbon bike frames out of China, but how does their more premium aero race frame stack up?
I have been a fan of OG-EVKIN for a few years at this point. The first frame I bought from them was their CF-025 carbon road bike frame. I bought it on AliExpress in November 2022, and have ridden it for 1000’s of miles with absolutely zero issues. The second frame was their newer Qonqi frame that i purchased in late 2023 and again I was very impressed, so i decided to check out their latest Loong frame.
Where the other frames I have from OG-EVKIN are more endurance focused, this new Loong frame is more of a race frame. It promises to be MUCH stiffer, with some more pronounced aero characteristics in terms of the design.
It is however one of the most expensive frames they produce costing $1200 (£950), and the main reason is that it uses EPS molding techniques for the entire frame. This means the frame can be lighter and stiffer for a given amount of carbon, and looking over the frame in detail, I am very impressed.
Externally the frame looks great, there are some well thought out design features, the included accessories are incredibly high quality, and thanks to the EPS molding techniques, the inside of the frame is INCREDIBLY smooth. However there was one small issue with some overspray…
Regardless, I’ll be building up a bike using this frame very shortly, so stay tuned!
