Xiaomi Mijia Portable Mi Air Pump 2 PRO vs 2 - 2X Faster! Review, Unbox, Test, Teardown

By popular viewer request, a teardown/review/test of the Xiaomi Mijia Mi Air Pump 2 Pro compared to the 2, also known as the Xiaomi Portable Electric Air Compressor 2 Pro. Measurements were made of performance, power consumption, noise, temperature, and other.

Summary:
The Mi Air Pump 2 Pro is much faster (2x) than the Mi Air Pump 2, but it's much larger, heavier, and uses more power, so despite having a larger battery, it has similar battery life. The build quality is decent as always, but the Air Pump 2 is probably good enough for most people unless you really want the flashlight. The accessories are either the same, or are compatible with the 2.

The PWM duty cycle after the motor slows down was measured by looking for the two distinct voltage spikes in zoomed in oscilloscope view (not shown), and determining the duty cycle and period by observing the timing. It is not an exact measurement.
