I’ve spent years building bikes with cheaper parts sourced from places like AliExpress, chasing the absolute best value for money. So when a complete carbon road bike arrived that was priced SO aggressively, I genuinely struggled to work out how they were doing it… I had to take a closer look.
The Sunpeed Invincible Sport comes with a full carbon frame, fork and seatpost, integrated carbon handlebars, Shimano 105 R7020 12-speed groupset, and hydraulic disc brakes. It also comes from a UK bike shop with a warranty, and you can even get it on the Cycle to Work scheme.
The price is a mere £1,399.99 ($1,850), which is frankly a bit bonkers.
In this episode I’ll compare it against the competition (Ribble and Canyon), take it out on the road, completely strip it down, inspect the frame inside and out, and work out exactly where Sunpeed has spent the money, and where they've saved it.
Plus I'll even spec out a similar build from AliExpress to show you how crazy that value really is!
